Pigment

Overview

Rex that have one marking colored in a pastel color are said to be blessed by the sky for their good deeds. Since this isn't that uncommon, though, often rex just roll their eyes when one mentions this.

Rules

  • You can only choose one color across the design!
  • This modifier can only affect markings that have no special color rules!
  • Pigment can never exhibit a gradient.
  • Unlike Arcane, pigment MUST be present somewhere in your design unless you choose to carry the specific gene!
    • However, if you don't have any markings in your geno, or any markings that can be affected, it will not show.
  • Arcane does not affect pigment, since both are color modifiers.
  • Pigment must be picked from the Lambent slider provided.
  • Pigment can be used to colour claws and/or Paw Pads in addition to any chosen markings.
    • Claws and/or Paw Pads do not have to be the same color! They must still be picked from the Lambent slider provided.
  • Pigment cannot affect free marks.

Special Interactions

Some markings interact uniquely with Pigment, creating distinctive presentations when combined. Here's a list of these special markings.

2-Layer Markings

Pigment can either affect one layer on a marking with 2 or more layers, or it may color it in different colors! Here is an example of Brushed!

The following markings are considered "2-Layered":

Brushed / Bullseye / Daub / Petal / Swathes / Submerged

Flesh

This color mod can additionally color the entire rexal's skin. This includes the pink sheen layer. If you want to affect the skin and want the pink sheen layer enabled, it must be the same color as the flesh layer. It does not have to be the same color as the marking you chose to color (if any), however, you must still choose a color from the Lambent slider.

Lambent

When both Lambent and Pigment are on the same geno, Pigment is allowed to change as many markings as you'd like back to follow normal color rules for their base coat!
