Petal

Overview

Petal is an ancient marking. There are records of it dating back to before the rex moved underwater. As a result, there is a lot of speculation around it, dreams about flowers that could not be transplanted to the city-state...

Rules

  • Petals must appear to be either a common petal shape or diamond-shaped.
  • The petal shape you choose must stay consistent on the entire design.
  • Petals are allowed to appear anywhere on the rex.
  • Petals are allowed to have multiple colors and appear to "layer".
    • They must be easily able to be color-picked.
  • Petals can cover an area or appear as singular patches, they should never come off as unnatural, too uniform, or ordered to a degree where it creates a pointillism effect.
  • Petals should always appear in pairs of at least 2! There should never be one lonely petal around.
  • There should be at least TWO petals showing on a rex!
  • Some Petals may be smaller than the minimum size when they are in a cluster.
  • Petal can fade out when presented in big patches!
  • Make sure that petal never looks like Laurel!

Special Interactions

Some markings interact uniquely with Petal, creating distinctive presentations when combined. Here's a list of these special markings.

Frontier

When Frontier and Petal are both present on a geno, Petal is allowed to affect other Defined-edged markings! Petal can then erase small portions from affected markings' edges and add more spots on the outside, almost giving a mottled effect. This effect should never take up more than 50% of a marking's edges!

Rain

Rain cut-outs can change shape to the form of petals.
