Fade

Overview

Rex who are born with this marking are said to have lived a very tragic previous life. Because of this, other rexs will sometimes shower these souls with extra love to help them avoid befalling the same fate.

Rules

  • Fade should always be below all white markings.
  • Patches or marks affected by Fade should have a saturation of 0-8, no more.

  When affecting the base coat:

  • Fade creates soft patches of desaturated base coat.
    • To create the desaturated patches, you can do a 'layer affect' on the area Fade is located.
  • Patches of Fade MUST have an undefined edge.
  • These patches may cover up to the entire base coat of the rexal and/or appear in multiple spots.
    • They should never be shaped enough to emulate another marking, however!
  • Any marks above a Fade patch must also be desaturated unless they have Special Color rules.

  When affecting a marking:

  • Fade affects the entirety of the marking.
  • Markings above the marking affected by Fade may choose to also be affected by Fade or follow their own specific color rules.
  • Fade may partially affect marking with the Special Color Rules tag, allowing them to exhibit partial or full saturation.

Special Interactions

Some markings interact uniquely with Fade, creating distinctive presentations when combined. Here's a list of these special markings.

Some Saturated Markings

There are certain markings that are able to override fade and change the saturation permissions of said marking AND fade. Even in when fully desaturating the design, these markings MUST always show some form of saturation! They are also allowed to show 100% of their saturation if you want them to.

These markings are the following:

Markings affected by Arcane

Optionally affected: Coating / Kintsugi

This example uses Fade and Arcane both affecting Daub!

Flesh

This color mod can additionally color the entire rexal's skin. This includes the pink sheen layer. If you want to affect the skin and want the pink sheen layer enabled, it must be the same color as the flesh layer.
