Deep Dive to the Cemetery

Quick Overview: Investigate the mysterious whispers and illusions near the ancient underwater cemeteries and uncover what's causing them.

Lore/Story Blurb:

Rexals honor their dead in two main ways. Wealthier families carve tombs into ocean cliffs outside the Dome, sealing their loved ones in stone chambers. For such graves, Rexals often use memorial plaques in temples within the Dome to honor their ancestors without visiting physical graves. Others choose cremation, honoring the ashes in dedicated temples that hold the urns. The latter practice has become more popular in modern times since traveling to the cliffs is cumbersome and difficult for many, especially for pups or elders who cannot make the journey to the underwater tombs.

These deep-sea cemeteries are as old as the Dome itself, with cliffs that stretch far into the sea. Each chamber holds a loved one long gone. Newer graves are located in the cliffs closer to the Dome, while the older graves lie farther away, hidden from view in the deeper trenches. Early Rexals buried there often died from unfortunate circumstances, such as incurable diseases, and precautions had to be taken.

Each year, as the days grow shorter and the temperatures drop, whispers of these ancient Rexals are said to be heard near their graves. However, this year, several Rexals visiting their ancestors' burial sites reported strange sightings. It is as if their memories have returned in the form of magical figures. Some visitors have not returned from their visitations.

As a result, higher-ups in Atlas have put out a request for those brave enough to investigate and discover what is happening.

Objective:

The ancient gravesites of the Dome, deep in the Posian trench cliffs, are seemingly haunted by living memories of long-perished Rexals. These memories appear to lure gullible Rexals deeper into the trenches, from which they do not return. How is this possible?

Upon further investigation, it seems that several Rexals are skilled illusionists, using their magic to create shapes resembling the carvings of Rexals on the seals of the stone chambers. These illusionists are dragging unsuspecting Rexals away, stealing the offerings or loot brought from dives. It remains unclear what they do with their captives, but it is of utmost importance to capture these culprits.

You are welcome to depict your Rexal investigating or catching the culprits; however, you must show them near the cliffs!
