Rules

  • Pinion must be one solid marking. It cannot have breaks or holes.
  • Pinion must always touch the minimum amount, but does not need to fill it fully.
  • Pinion always needs to start at the back.
  • Pinion can have indents to hint at a feathered wing shape.
  • This marking must look plausibly natural.
  • Pinion should never look like an actual feathered wing.
  • Pinion is alternatively able to have harsh cut-ins, making it's appearance stripey. This should never be too complicated.
  • These stripes are able to twist on their ends, making pinion able to be quite stylized. These twists should never be too harsh or turn into curls.
  • Pinion is able to present as a sort of crescent/ V-shaped marking only in it's minimum expression.

Pinion-Only Examples

Here is an example of the absolute maximum allowance of feather-like indents.
While pinion can have harsh cut-ins and can be quite complicated, you should never overdo it.
Here's an example of a twist in the end of the stripe. Here's the same twist that turned into a curl, which would not be allowed!
